Silver Crystal Pendant - Comparison 1

Description

Finally I found those cute feng shui ‘crystal’ (that is, plastic) balls that everyone uses as Silver Crystals in their ‘Sailor Moon’ cosplays. So the next logical step was buying them and making Silver Crystal pendants of my own >w<

This pendant is based on that of Usagi in the manga. After breaking the seal of the Silver Crystal but before receiving a compact to hold it, Usagi gets it made into a pendant… somehow o.O

My crystal is smaller, which makes it way more comfortable to wear, even though it is bulkier than most of my pendants, and believe me when I say that I have a few. It is also fully transparent, with many facets in which rainbows can be seen when light impinges on it - sadly, that was impossible to photograph ^^; but it’s a beautiful effect, very Silver-Crystal-like :3

My chain is more or less as long, but different. Instead of featuring bigger links at regular intervals, it has four golden roses, because they make me think of Princess Serenity, and to some extent also of King Endymion and Tuxedo Kamen. I don’t remember where or when I bought these roses, they’ve been around in one of my boxes of materials for a long time. Now I have only two left, maybe I can make moulds or something…

By the way, while working on my Silver Crystal Pendant, I ran into a problem, and I want to share the details to help other people who might face it during their handcrafting.
Right after hooking the plastic ‘feng shui crystal ball’, I decided to fix it to the wire with Loctite. I glued it, put it on the table and left for a while.
When I came back, both were attached… and the top of the crystall had become WHITE. It looked as it had been somehow burnt O.O
If that happens to you, don’t panic! I already did and now I can save that to you ^^;
Pick a cotton bud and rub the white parts - most of it will just go away. For the most persistent, whitest parts, use a little tiny bit of acetone on the cotton bud and remove them carefully.

This is so super cute! And the little roses are a really beautiful addition!
